Heading Home

We are waiting to board our flight home. We woke up this morning to the sounds of San Jose. These include monkeys, roosters, dogs barking, and tons of birds! Deb and I look forward to being dry! Everything we own is wet with humidity!

Zip Line Fun!

Spent the first half of the day hitting the zip lines. I decided to take the next step and try the Tarzan swing. This is the first step in a bungee jump in my opinion! You are hooked up to a line and you jump off into the void hoping that your rigging will hold. I did it, and it does seem that your mind helps you out by just flat disconnecting right at the moment you take the plunge. After you take the first big step you get to swing out into the jungle that stretches out below you.

Weather has been fantastic with bright sun and mild temps all week so far. This could change at any minute and turn into the biggest rain storm you have ever seen, so we'll keep our eyes out for what ever is next.

Gear is holding up well and there is much video and photos to share when we return.

Off to have a Fresca and a snack.

Lunch In Santa Elena

Deb & I just finished a lunch at the Tree House Restaurant here in Santa Elena in Monteverde. Meal was great as any would be, washed down with a mango smoothie! The best part of the whole deal is the fact that we both get 20 minutes of free Internet with our meal. So here we are in the middle of nowhere checking email and updating the blog.

The weather has been very nice so far with all of the rain happening in the evening and sun with scattered clouds during the day. High temperature has maybe been 75 degrees.

We are ready to hit the zip lines at 8:00am tomorrow morning and have already walked all of the suspension bridges. Deb and I been shooting some great video and photos that we will post when we get back home.

We´ll keep you posted as we can...

Typical Breakfast

Deb and I just finished a Costa Rican standard breakfast... Super strong coffee, fruit plate, toast, scrambled eggs and a mound of rice and beans. The rice, beans and eggs get mixed together for a great flavor combination!

The weather today is full sun with 70 degree morning temperatures.

We are off for a full day of travel in a van to reach our final destination.

Greetings From Costa Rica

Deb and I have arrived safely and are both looking forward to a good nights sleep here at the Mango Hotel. Tomorrow we head west to Monteverdi starting at 9 am. Flight was long but uneventful. Very nice temperature right now at 70 degrees.

Train Runs Through Bangkok Market

How hard is real estate to come by where a public market is forced to do this every time a train comes through? What happens if the train shows up a bit early?

What? I Can't Hear You!

Using a mobile phone for more than hour a day could damage hearing, experts have warned.

Research shows that those who regularly use their mobile for longer than an hour a day find it harder to hear - with words starting with the letters s, f, h, t and z proving particularly troublesome.

With this service you can create a temporary e-mail address that will forward all incoming mail to your usual e-mail address. Simply enter your e-mail address and the life time of your spambox and we will generate you a temporary @spambox.us e-mail.

Most Flights Are Late, and It May Only Get Worse

Passengers are understandably angry when they are stuck on a delayed flight. But they should not necessarily be surprised — especially those traveling on flights like American Airlines 1659, departing every afternoon from Newark Liberty International Airport to Chicago.

Flight 1659 is the most chronically delayed of all flights on a full-size jet operated by a major domestic airline. It arrived at O’Hare Airport at least 15 minutes late 84 percent of the time during a 12-month period ended in June.

And when Flight 1659 was late, it was really late — an average of 87 minutes behind schedule, or roughly the time it takes for the American MD-80 to actually fly the route.

Theater Room Officially Done!

It is true. After five months of work... most of it waiting for very slow people to do their job, it is done. Sure, there are some things still swimming around in my head to be completed, but it finally works as advertised.
