Sunday ATV Ride
Some fun hills to try.
The blue arrow represents what can happen to a fast moving photographer trying to get into the timed shot, but discovering a badger hole along the way! This was one of those uncontrolled falls that you used to do when you were 8 years old many times a day with no ill effects, but now that you are over 40, might just result in you being crippled come Monday morning.
The adrenaline is just starting to wear off and the pain set in. This was what I thought the shot would look like originally.
Almost home and on the right side of the railroad tracks!Monday, July 09, 2007
July 4th Week In McCall, Idaho
Deb and I spent last week on vacation in McCall, Idaho. This photo album features photos from our ATV run up the east side of the mountains surrounding Payette Lake. Most of the shots where around 8000 feet in the ghost forest destroyed by the Burgdorf Junction Fire in 2000. Great place to ride!

I'm Back!
Sad to realize that my week of vacation is over. It was fast and furious, with much fun and work to be had. We split up the week with the first half being camping and the second half working around the house.
Camping was good with all of the toys working correctly and lots of opportunity to us them. The only downside was that it got really HOT during the day. I'm talking over 100 degrees hot! I being one of those Northwest campers, would rather sit around a camp fire everyday and try to stay warm than have to wait until 8:00 pm for the temperature to drop below 90. Trinity Lake, California was a great place to be able to do everything... ATV riding, Swimming, Riding the Wave Runner, Beautiful scenery, and way, way, way far away from my cell phone provider!
Working around the house was productive as we dug into some of those projects that take the time. We finally got Deb's chairs for the dining room table and picked up a new area rug to go under them. We are much closer to having everything put away from the big move and even cleaned all of the gear up from camping. I even did some yard work and washed the cars.
Well tomorrow I am back to work. I'll post some photos of the last weeks activities in the next couple of days.

Old ATV Trailer Is Gone...

We said Goodbye to the old ATV trailer this week. When we first became interested in riding and then buying an ATV we thought one was going to be more than enough. We soon learned that it is much better to have two! After picking up the new trailer last weekend that can haul both Quads, we decided to sell the old one. I provide this shot from the archives to pay respect for the 2 good years the old trailer gave us.

Working On The House...
No shortage of things to do around the new house. We spent Friday evening trimming the broken branches out of the trees in the front yard. Most of these branches seem to have suffered their failure last winter during the big ice storm, but were never removed from the trees. Some larger limbs required the use of the ATV winch to pull them out!
Put 14 boxes of books back on the book shelves! This was a monster job and only succeeded in showing us that we need yet another book shelf to hold all the books. At one point Deb mentioned taking the books to a used book store and selling them! I quickly talked some sense into her, but it was close!
I have hung most of the pictures and art on the walls around the house. What used to be the "large" pieces are now the "medium" sized ones at best. As always, I enjoy making holes in the walls.
The highlight of each week is using the ATV and the new ATV trailer to haul the trash can and recycle bins out to the main road. The fun does not stop there though, as I still get to bring them back the next day, and get the paper on Sunday!
The computer room is up and running but no where near finished. There are many boxes of stuff that still need find a home, but I seem to become distracted when ever I sit down in front of the computer. Strange, I just remembered I was going to work on those very boxes before I started typing this... hmmmmm.
