Here Come The Storms

Major weather change coming...

Southeastern Oregon and southwestern Idaho will have one last warm day today before a cold front brings drastic cooling Sunday.

Well ahead of the front... showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will be strongest in the west central Idaho mountains but all areas are vulnerable. Strongest storms will produce heavy rain... wind gusts to 50 mph... and small hail.

The cold front will arrive around midnight in eastern Oregon and before sunrise in southwest Idaho. Frontal passage will be marked by a windshift from southeast to west along with more showers and thunderstorms.

Behind the cold front is much colder and blustery weather. Sunday will be showery with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High temperatures Sunday will be only in the 50s to lower 60s in the valleys and 50 to 55 in the mountains. Compare that with highs today in the 70s to lower 80s in the valleys and 60s to mid 70s in the mountains. The colder temperatures Sunday along with west winds 20 to 30 mph will make it feel like early April again.

Temperatures are expected to stay below normal until next Thursday.
