Delta + Japan = Delay (Again!)

Once again it will take less time to fly from Japan to the US than it took to get from Shanghai to Tokyo. Another way to put this into prospective is I've been traveling for 12 hours and covered an anemic 1000 miles. This time it was loose luggage in the aft cargo hold. We had to stop off the runway for crews to enter the hold, find the jiggly bags and secure them. With this delay we lost our spot in line and the flight officials did not seem too excited to re-insert us.

We are now on our way and "with a strong tail wind" (read: We're actually going to allow the plane to cruise at the speed it was designed to achieve.) we'll only be 10 minutes late. As I'm typing this I note that the 'follow the plane' map no longer shows the plane's speed, very interesting.
