The Theater Room Is Up!

Rope lights are working around the seating platform.

The projector has not been calibrated and it already looks amazing! (Coral bed from 'Finding Nemo')

The recliners have been installed and are very comfortable. I've personally sat in every one, and there is not a bad seat in the house!

Just a little bit of wiring has gone into making this thing work!

The rack is looking like it means business!
The projector is huge! It is working great from the laundry room.
At this point we are watching movies and playing the Xbox 360 on the system. There have been no calibrations and the remote is working some of the time. We still need curtains, painting, auto switches on the lights, and wall accents. There is still quite a bit of work that still needs to be done and I figure at least another 2 weeks to finish all of it and call this theater open for business!

Lanai Slate Floor Gets A Make Over

Many of the tiles had started to rust and break down because the surface had never been sealed. The contractor replaced all of the bad tiles, re-grouted the whole floor and then sealed it.

Now the water just beads up.

Some of you (and you know who you are) have asked why we don't just call it a covered patio. So I looked up Lanai. lanai (a veranda or roofed patio often furnished and used as a living room) There you go.

Theater Room Starts Tomorrow

Tomorrow the remodel begins. The construction phase will take about 2 weeks and the equiptment install will take one. I will keep you posted.

Master Bath is Almost Back

A silicone mat holds the floor heating elements in place.

New tile is down. It just needs to be polished.

One of the many layers of cement required to prep the shower for tiles.

The tiles and bench are in! All this needs is a layer of tile sealant and we are ready to move back in.

Just a thick layer of dust stands in the way. We hope to be using the master bath by the weekend.
